Store Locator Map — Privacy Policy

Introduction

Schmezko & Gottselich GbR ("Polluxdev", "Pollux", "we", "us", or "our") develops and operates the Dropby Store Locator application ("the App") for Shopify. This Privacy Policy explains how the App collects, uses, and protects data when installed on a Shopify store.

Data We Collect

When you install and use the App, we may collect the following data:

Store Information

Your Shopify store name, domain, email address, and locale settings, as provided by the Shopify API during installation.

Location Data

Store location details (addresses, coordinates, hours, and custom fields) that you enter into the App.

Visitor Geolocation

Approximate location of your store's visitors (via browser geolocation API) to display nearby store results. This data is processed in-browser and is not stored on our servers.

Usage Analytics

Aggregated, non-personally-identifiable usage data such as map views, search queries, and location clicks to help you understand customer engagement.

How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data to:

• Provide and operate the Store Locator Map functionality on your storefront
• Display relevant store locations to your customers
• Generate analytics and reports within the App dashboard
• Communicate important updates about the App
• Improve the App's performance and features

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data or your customers' data to third parties. We may share data with the following categories of service providers solely to operate the App:

Mapping Providers

We use third-party map services (e.g., Google Maps, Mapbox) to render interactive maps. These providers may receive location queries and visitor IP addresses in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Hosting and Infrastructure

Cloud hosting providers that store and serve App data under strict data processing agreements.

Data Retention

We retain your store and location data for as long as the App is installed on your Shopify store. Upon uninstallation, we delete your data within 30 days unless retention is required by law.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest to protect your data. Access to data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
